1. Where will the new museum be located?
The new museum will be centrally located in the new Depot Park in Santa Cruz. The site is within walking distance of downtown, municipal wharf, Neary Lagoon, and proposed Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary Visitor Center.
2. What will happen to the whale?
The whale sculpture in front of the present museum site is a well-loved feature of the Seabright beach neighborhood and will remain at its present site.
3. What will the new museum be like?
The new facility will be designed around the Museum's mission to inspire connection with the natural world.The new museum will provide examples of sustainability and stewardship not only in its exhibits, but also in the building itself and the surrounding landscaping.
