Seashell Science Kit

The Seashell Science Kit introduces students to common shells of the Monterey Bay through hands-on activities in Art and Science.

The Seashell Science Kit contains:

1) 28 species of shells from invertebrates found in Monterey Bay. Each shell is accompanied by an information card containing the species name (common and scientific), list of key features for identification, page numbers to additional information located in kit's reference books.

2) Two reference books: Tide-drift Shells of the Monterey Bay Region by Hulda Hoover McLean and The Beachcomber's Guide to Seashore Life of California by J. Duane Sept

3) Suggested curriculum and activities in ART and SCIENCE for grades K-2 (includes background information, activity descriptions, activity sheet masters, and answer keys).

4) Teacher Preview Pass to visit the Seymour Center at Long Marine Lab.
