Neary Lagoon Watershed Walk
The Neary Lagoon Watershed Walk investigates the broad topic of watersheds: the importance of watersheds and their role in the health of our environment, the techniques and methods used to assess water quality within our waterways, and water conservation efforts.
The Watershed Walk is an outdoor, environmental education program for 5th grade. The program consists of a three-part learning experience including an interactive in-class presentation, use of our Watershed Education Kit, and a class field trip to Neary Lagoon.
Program topics are aligned with California State Science Standards for grade 5. Museum staff and volunteer docents from the Santa Cruz Museum Association lead the presentations and tours.
The Neary Lagoon Watershed Walk is FREE, thanks to funding from the City of Santa Cruz.
The Neary Lagoon Program is offered during the school year.
Program reservations can be made starting in late August.
