URBAN GEOLOGY

Saturday, July 28, 9am-12:30pm

$10 Museum Members/$15 General

Ever wonder where the stone for City Hall or the Post Office came from? Heard the story about the giant fossil skeleton unearthed on Mission Hill? With local historian, geologist and paleontologist, Frank Perry, we will look at some of the natural and not-so-natural geologic features of downtown Santa Cruz. We’ll see outcrops of fossils, learn how San Lorenzo River shaped the area’s topography, and examine many different kinds of rocks.
